2021 Toyota RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid

Toyota RAV4 Prime – the most powerful Toyota RAV4  to date was unveiled today in Los Angeles Motor Show.

Before we talk about this new version of the Japanese crossover, we would like to remind you that our colleague Karim Deeb’s had a detailed test-drive of the hybrid version of the 2019 Toyota RAV4. The hybrid crossover is powered by an electric motor and a 4-cylinder petrol engine, generating 219 hp and 279 Nm.

Now let’s introduce the Toyota RAV4 Prime 2021, the Plug-in Hybrid that combines a gasoline engine with an electric motor that can be charged by an electrical outlet just like a mobile phone.

The most powerful Toyota RAV4  to date is based on a hybrid system that combines a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine with 176 horsepower and 228 Nm , along with an electric motor powered by a lithium-ion battery that can recharged by a plug.

Both engines work together to generate 302 hp (306 PS), 83 hp more than 2019 RAV4 Hybrid currently available on the market, which enables the new car to accelerate from 0 to 96 km / h in 5.8 seconds. And it can travel up to 63 km (39 miles) depending on the electric motor only.

2021 RAV4 Prime is available in two versions:

  • SE version features a unique front grille design and comes with piano black accents (glossy black) with 18-inch tires. The interior has an 8-inch screen for the infotainment system that supports; Amazon Alexa, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Other safety specification includes blind-spot warning system.
  • XSE version comes with a two-color exterior and a black roof. It also has vertical LED daytime running lights and 19-inch tires.

It is still too early to know the price of 2021 Toyota RAV4, but it is certain that it will surpass the price of the current RAV4 Hybrid 2019 of 38,000 USD in the UAE market equivalent to AED 139,900 or SAR 142,850.
