2020 Defender Is An All-New Generation
Following an invitation from Jaguar Land Rover Company, our colleague Mousub Shashaa, the founder of the ArabGT website, went to the Gaydon Centre in England, Britain, which is one of the most important and largest engineering centers for Jaguar Land Rover, as it has more than 10,500 employees.
The invitation was to test-drive the new 2020 Land Rover Defender, but the car was not ready with its production version at that time, but it was a prototype model that the company created for testing purposes
Behind the wheel was the famous driver (Mike Cross) and beside him our colleague Mousub.
Initially, the car was tested on paved roads, then the car entered a bumpy track and finally, the test moved to off-road where (Mike) continued to drive at high speeds exceeding 120 km / h in most stages of the test to display the capabilities of the new 2020 Defender.
The 2020 Defender 2020 features permanent all-wheel drive, locking differentials, and a two-speed transfer case, It also features an aluminum Unibody instead of a body-on-frame used in the previous model, and Land Rover also provided an air suspension available as standard on Model 110 and can be selected on Model 90.
Land Rover offers two versions of the 2020 Defender: a 5-door 110 model and a shorter 3-door 90 model. Both models are available with a wide range of engines, including a turbocharged 3-liter 6-cylinder engine that generates 395 hp, and a turbocharged 2.0 L 4-cylinder engine that generates 296 horsepower, in addition to two diesel engines. All engines are connected to a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission.
The price of the all-new 2020 Defender (four-door 110) starts from 208,950 AED, which equals 56,895 USD, and the full add-on car price reaches 324,975 AED, which equals 88,488 USD (four-door 110)
