Today we will present a short video posted on YouTube showing how a VW Beetle pickup was made. In this Time lapses video with a duration of merely 00:59 seconds, we can see the stages of converting the German car into a pickup truck!
However, before talking about the process of modifying this Volkswagen Beetle, we would like to remind you that the German manufacturer VW produced the latest version of its famous Beetle on July 10 of 2019 to announce an end of beetle production for good, 80 years after it first started in 1938.
However, today we will talk about a Volkswagen Beetle that was modified by a company named Smyth Performance, which also has a modification kit that can transform a 1998 Beetle into a 2010 model, according to what was previously published on their fan page on Facebook.
Watch The 59-second Video:
Our team does not have much information about this modification process that included a body kit as well as an extension in order to make cargo bed and turn the beetle into a real pickup vehicle.
As we are talking about VW Beetle, we would like to remind you that our colleague Karim Deeb had previously test-driven a Volkswagen Beetle in an episode of the Test Drive program presented to you on ArabGT website.
On the other hand, the cost of converting this German car into a small pickup, was less than 10 thousand dollars, or 37,500 Saudi riyals, excluding the price of the car.
Just as a reminder, the winners of the Volkswagen Stars Challenge will be officially announced at the Dubai Drive 2020, which will be held in Yas Marina Circuit in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi. We hope to see you there!
