For the fans of speed land action, we will introduce in this article the fastest Corvette C8 2020 car in the world so far, although this number might be broken soon!
Today we’ve got a video showing the result of a speed test that was taken by the new Chevrolet Corvette after it was modified by Hennessy Performance, rising the engine horsepower to 650hp.
Before showing the video, we would like to remind you that the famous American modification company, Hennessy, has previously announced that it is working to provide the new Corvette with a twin turbocharger which is expected to raise the car’s power to 1,200 horsepower, the same amount of power generated by the speed legend Bugatti Veyron, but in this article, we’re not talking about this upcoming modified car.
According to a new video posted on the Hennessy Performance Channel on YouTube, the fastest Corvette C8 2020 car in the world has now been announced, after the modified car reached a speed of 330 km / h (205.1 mph).
Watch The Video:
During the beginning of the video, Hennessy showed some of the speed numbers it had recorded onboard a car that it had previously modified, before showing the new speed records it had made on its own track in Texas, USA.
The video reminded us of the following numbers:
- A fifth-generation Corvette ZL1, modified by Hennessy, reached a speed of 328 km / h (203.9 mph) in October 2012.
- Hennessy C7 Stingray reached a speed of 322.7 km / h (200.6 mph) in December 2013.
- A modified Camaro ZL1 reached a speed of 349 km / h (217 mph), in February of 2018.
Today we are talking about the fastest Corvette C8 2020 at the moment, which relies on one of the all-new eighth-generation versions of the Corvette Z51 package.
After the modifications, the power of the 6.2-liter V8 engine reached 650 hp, while the regular Corvette engine generates 490hp and when the car is equipped with a Z51 package the power reaches 495 hp, and this power was increased through installing a modified exhaust system made of stainless steel in addition to a nitrous system, and the car was equipped with Continental tires.
This record was made on May 8 when the modified Corvette driven by professional driver John Heinricy reached a speed of 330 km / h on the track, knowing that the top speed the stock Corvette C8 is 312 km / h (194) Mile / h).
