The First Sony Car Surprises Everyone at CES 2020

Today, we will talk about the first Sony car in the world that appeared hours ago at the CES 2020 events currently taking place in Las Vegas, USA.

In this article, we will introduce a new electric concept car that has been unveiled by Sony, the leading group in the electronics industry, which is considered one of the largest international companies with two headquarters, one in New York and one in Tokyo.

The first Sony car was named Vision S, which is a test project designed to showcase the efforts of the Japanese giant had put in the field of technologies related to the world of mobility.

Sony Vision S is an electric sedan with zero CO2 emissions, and it is equipped with 33 sensors that include advanced optical sensors and radars to monitor the surroundings of the vehicle’s body from outside.

There are also sensors in the cabin which contains 4 passenger-seats and a giant glass roof, and the second-row seats got large screens installed behind the front-seat headrests, for the infotainment system. In front of the driver and the front passenger, there is a giant panoramic touch screen.

Sony confirmed that this test car is equipped with the second level of autonomous driving systems, knowing that the upcoming all-new 2021 Mercedes S Class will be equipped with the third level of autonomous driving systems, which is the last level that allows any intervention of the human driver in the driving process.

The Sony Concept car is based on a new electric-cars chassis that is likely provided by Magna and it is equipped with two electric motors generating 200 kilowatts, which is equivalent to 268 hp. The car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.8 seconds and can reach a top speed of 239 km / h.
