Before its official debut at Geneva Motor Show 2020 next March, an official photo of a new Toyota crossover vehicle has been published online
As you may remember, we have previously talked about a new version of Toyota Yaris that the Japanese company Toyota will launch during the current year. We also said that the upcoming car will be a b-segment crossover.
In this official teaser image, we see Toyota’s upcoming crossover from the back, and we can notice Toyota’s emblem with a blue background, which confirms that this new car is environmentally friendly and that it will feature “Toyota’s latest hybrid technology
We can also note that there are narrow rear lights with LED lamps in an overall aggressive design characterized by sharp lines. The teaser image also shows a wide bumper, curved rear glass, and an integrated spoiler.
Mechanically, this vehicle is likely to be based on a hybrid system that combines a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with an electric motor.
This new Yaris crossover vehicle is supposed to be launched at the Geneva show on March 3 in addition to Toyota Mirai, Toyota RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid, Toyota GR Yaris, and Toyota Supra with a 2-liter 4-cylinder engine. but the new car isn’t expected on sale until early next year.
Toyota’s European EVP Matt Harrison has previously said, that the car isn’t “just a Yaris with body cladding and raised suspension.” He also added: A Yaris-based crossover would give Toyota a challenger for the Ford Puma and Nissan Juke, and give shoppers a less expensive option than the C-HR.
The Japanese company Toyota expects the new crossover Yaris to record 30% of Toyota sales in the European market by the year 2025.
