Today, we are talking about the future of Mercedes G Class, as the upcoming models of this luxury SUV will become fully electric according to official statements made by the head of the German Mercedes-Benz company, Ola Källenius, to CarAdvice.
“Yes, the G is going to go electric, we have kicked off the concept work for this, so in a few years you’ll be able to go electric with the G as well,” Källenius said.
It is worth noting, that global sales of the Mercedes G-Class increased by more than 60 percent last year, which witnessed about 35 thousand units delivered marking a 13,000-unit increase on the 2017 record.
Just as a reminder, the production of Mercedes G Class started in 1979, and as you can see, it still has so many fans in Our Arabic region and all over the world. So if we had to guess we’d say that the upcoming electric version of G-Class would be produced as an EQ vehicle and that the gasoline version would still be produced for years to come.
