Nasser Al Attiyah Becomes The First Arab to Receive This International Award
Dakar Rally champion, Nasser Al-Attiyah, won the Monaco World Sports Legends Award in its fourth edition, to be the first Arab ever to receive this international honor.
During an official ceremony held yesterday evening in the Principality of Monaco in the presence of the brightest names in various sports, the Qatari champion Nasser bin Saleh Al-Attiyah, champion of rally racing and an Olympic medallist in shooting, was honored as the first Arab athlete to win this prestigious award.

Nasser Al-Attiyah gained tremendous international fame after winning the title of Dakar World Rally three times, in the years 2011, 2015, and 2019, and not only that, he even gained fame in the world of shooting after he won the bronze medal in the 2012 London Olympics.
It should be noted the Monaco World Sports Legends Award is presented to active and retired champions alike, for those who have distinguished themselves not only by sports achievements but also as role models for future generations to come. The award aims to promote the ethical values of sport as a way to motivate people, especially young people, to excel.
As the first Arab to win this international award in Al-Attiyah’s made this statement: “Giving me the Monaco World Sports Legends Award is a great honor, especially with my presence among stars and legends from around the world, which gives me a great incentive to achieve more.”
The Dakar Rally champion expressed his pride in being the first Arab athlete to receive this world award, while at the same time dedicating this great achievement to all fans of motorsport.
