  • The plug-in hybrid xDrive50e combines a turbocharged inline-six engine with an electric motor, resulting in a combined output of 483 horsepower.
  • The range-topping M60i model boasts a twin-turbo V-8 engine generating an impressive 523 horsepower.

All three powertrains are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and regardless of the chosen powertrain, the BMW X5 offers ample power and acceleration in various driving situations. The xDrive40i model, for example, managed a quick 4.8-second run to 60 mph, while the M60i achieves an even faster acceleration time of 3.9 seconds.

For the 2024 model year, the base price of the X5 sDrive40i starts at $66,195, reflecting an increase of $3,600 compared to the 2023 model. Opting for all-wheel drive incurs an additional cost of $2,300. The plug-in hybrid xDrive50e, on the other hand, has a starting price of $73,495, which is approximately $7,000 higher than its predecessor. The range-topping M60i begins at $90,295, representing a nearly $4,000 price hike.
