Today we present a new video showing the muscle car Dodge Demon in a stock version (unmodified) as it imposes its control on the dragstrip to set a new quarter-mile speed record.
But before talking about this new speed record,
we would like to remind you, that Ralph Gilles, the former CEO of SRT and who is currently head of design department in FCA group, had decided to sell his Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, which bears the # 0004 on its chassis. This means it’s the 4th of the 3,300 demon cars ever made, which were sold only in the American and Canadian markets.
It was then said that the head of design for the automotive giant FCA Group was willing to give up his own car for an amount of 139,995 USD, equivalent to 524,981 SAR.
Now, to return to our main topic, the stock Dodge Demon muscle car managed on December 19, 2019, to travel the quarter-mile (400 meters) in 9.57 seconds, breaking the previous number recorded by the most powerful production Dodge car so far, which was 9.65 seconds.
In order for the unmodified car to achieve these records, it was fueled with 100-octane gasoline, and it used a special kind of wheels with racing slick rear tires.
The most powerful Dodge car is powered by a 6.2-liter Hemi V8 engine equipped with a 2.7-liter supercharger to generate a power of 840 hp and 1,044 Nm of torque. The engine is connected to an 8-speed automatic gearbox so that the powerful rear-wheel-drive sports car can reach the speed of 100 km / h in 2.3 seconds, which is an impressive number without any doubt, while its maximum speed is 270 km / h.
The price of the American Muscle car Challenger SRT Demon SR started from 84,995 USD, which is equivalent to 318,700 SAR, but the price of this car is getting higher and higher because it is a Limited Edition car sought-after by collectors.
