After announcing the winner of the Volkswagen Stars Challenge and the lucky winner of the 2020 VW Passat, today we introduce to the 2021 Volkswagen Touareg R after it has officially appeared on the Internet prior to its upcoming launch, which will take place next month at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show.
Before we introduce the new German car model 2021, we would like to remind you that our colleague Karim Deeb has already test-driven the third and new generation of Volkswagen mid-size luxury SUV, which competes against Ford Explorer, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and GMC Acadia, as part of the Test Drive program we present on your website ArabGT.
Today we are talking about the all-new 2021 Volkswagen Touareg R, and these are the pictures of the newest Touareg:
Mechanically, the new Volkswagen SUV depends on a plug-in hybrid system that combines the work of a 3-liter V6 petrol engine generating 335 hp, and a 134-hp electric motor that is powered by lithium-ion batteries. The Two engines can generate a combined power of 456hp and 700 Nm of torque.
When driving this German car on electric power only, it has a top speed of 140 km / h, and it can travel a distance of 48 km. However, if the gasoline and electric engines work together, the car can accelerate from zero to 100 km / h in 5 seconds and can reach an electronically limited top speed of 250 km / h.
There is also a more powerful version of the 2021 Volkswagen Touareg R, which is equipped with a 4-liter V8 TDI diesel engine that generates 416 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque. This engine is borrowed from the 2020 Audi SQ8.
As a reminder, the Touareg R is the third VW car to be sold in European markets with a Plug-in Hybrid system (can be recharged by plugging it into an external source of electric power). The first two cars are Golf and Passat GTE, and this car comes with an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
